Statewide LGBTQ+ Initiative

The work described below was completed in collaboration with my team Jennie Armstrong and Dea Biličič at Delve, a mission-driven communications + design agency serving nonprofits + launching social good initiatives.


The WA LGBTQ+ Survey is a statewide initiative aimed to collect concerns from the LGBTQ+ community in Washington state and increase state officials’ understanding of the community’s demographics and geographic distribution.

My role for this project included:

  • Collaborating to create a strategic communications plan that outlined the initiative’s goals and key messaging.

  • Leading and managing the brand development process from start to finish.

  • Working with our designer, Dea Biličić, to design and launch the website.

  • Providing templates, including a yearly content planner, monthly social media templates, social media graphics, a blog post schedule, and newsletter outlines, along with best practices for each platform.

  • Designing a social media toolkit with engaging content, curated hashtags, and branded graphics to help partners spread the word about the survey.

  • Designed collateral items such as posters and business cards.

  • Creating a comprehensive training library that the team can access whenever needed.

  • Providing website updates and support as needed.

Style Guide

To determine a client’s brand we share a survey for the client to complete. Based on the information shared, we create 2-3 different visual identities including logos, font, colors, and sometimes icons, illustrations and banners. After 2-3 iterations of brand mock-ups, we arrive with the final visual identity!
